In a dance competition, the performance in stage is simply a manifestation of many months and at times years of practice. Dancing is fun. It is even more fun when you are dancing to win a price. However, like any other competition, dancing requires the dancers to be well organized and plan themselves in the right way. The fact is that dancing requires a lot of energy. Even as you practice, it is important to take energy giving food to keep your body strong and energetic. However, during the day of competing, avoid taking meals three hours to competition. This will ensure that you do not have the heaviness that comes with being too full. Again, avoid drinking too much water and other fluids few hours before the competition.

The fact that you will be participating in dancing does not mean that you should forego sleep. Sleeping well is very imperative. It helps your body to regenerate and repair. During the last week to the competition day, slow down your activities to ensure that you sleep for more than eight hours.

You should also find time to relax. As dancers, the appetite for hard work may look unique to the people seeing you. In order to win a competition, words like discipline, determination, and dedication are very common. However, you do not have to be a hero during the week of competition. You should slow down and give the body some time to recuperate.

You should also not forget the importance of preparing the different things that you might require during the competition. In case you will be wearing certain costumes, ensure that they are clean and well organized. Also, you should also ensure that you groom yourself in the right way.

Prepare your mind in advance. This will ensure that nothing finds you in surprise. Take time before sleeping to lie in bed and simply think how things may unfold that day. However, you should not overdo it. Few minute of visualizing are healthy, but hours of thinking about the day are not healthy.

Remain positive throughout the week and even on the day of competition. Your mind is an important and a powerful tool. It is too powerful to an extent that it can determine if you will lose or win the competition. You should remain positive even when you realize that there is a group that seems to be better than you.

Everyone has some weaknesses and you will also find yourself with some too. However, you cannot afford to focus on them. You may be chocked to note that even if you have a certain weakness, you have more strength than you can imagine. Let your focus be on your strength and not your weaknesses.
